How can Unicare offer comprehensive coverage and no monthly premium?
Each month the Federal Government, though the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, pay Unicare several hundred dollars for every person that is covered by Security Choice.
Can I apply for Security Choice no matter what my income is?
Your income is not a qualifying factor when applying for Security Choice. People of all economic levels qualify for Security Choice.
Are preexisting conditions covered?
Preexisting conditions are covered from the effective date of your Security Choice program.
Can I get Security Choice if I have Cancer, Diabetes, Heart Disease or some other health problem?
The only medical question on the Security Choice application is, “ Do You have End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) or receive routine kidney dialysis treatments”? If you can answer that question no, you qualify physically.
If I am on Disability Social Security and Medicare and under the age of 65, can I apply for Security Choice?
Yes. No matter what your age, you can apply for Security Choice, as long as you have Part “A” and Part “B” of Medicare..
When I buy Security Choice will I be able to stop the Medicare Part “B” premium from being deducted from my Social Security check?
No. In order for you to apply and keep Security Choice, the Part “B” premium must continue to be deducted from your Social Security check.
Does the premium increase as I get older?
No. The premium is the same for all ages.
